Scrub and Circulating Nurse:

Prepare the operating room, ensuring that all instruments and equipment
are properly sterilized and
arranged.
- Ensure patient safety and provide support throughout
the surgical procedure.

Verify and monitor patient pre-per and post op.
- Maintain a sterile field
and ensure strict adherence to aseptic techniques.
- Pass
instruments, sutures, sponges, and supplies to the surgeon and surgical team
during procedures.
- Assist
in positioning and preparing the patient, ensuring both comfort and safety
throughout the
procedure.
- Document all relevant information related to the
surgical procedure in the patient’s medical record.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals,
including anesthesiologists, to ensure patient safety
and smooth
surgical workflow.
- Anticipate surgical needs and respond promptly to
requests.
- Maintain accurate counts of sponges, instruments,
and sharps before, during, and after procedures.
- Assist in the application of surgical dressings and
postoperative care.
- Monitor for any breaches in sterile technique and
take immediate corrective action to maintain
patient
safety.
- Maintain accurate inventory of surgical supplies
and ensure timely restocking.
- Prepare
specimens for pathology and ensure proper labeling and handling.
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures
Nursing Practice
License
Certification in BLS/ACLS
- Proficient
knowledge of surgical instruments and aseptic techniques.
- Ability
to work under pressure.
- Strong
organizational skills and attention to details.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
