Job Scope: the safety officer is responsible for ensuring that all health and safety policies and procedures are implemented at ABC Mall.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform daily site inspection and ensure compliance in accordance with ABC Safety policies and procedures. Ensure that all site is covered by the site inspection.
Conduct and plan periodic inspections, health and safety audits and follow up on the recommendations of safety consultants; Issue warnings and safety recommendations whenever health and safety issues are not respected.
Follow up with tenants on preventive and safety measures and on the collection of certificates through the Operations Department.
Ensure that health and safety policies and processes are implemented and respected by ABC and tenants’ employees.
Gather information about work environments and workplace incidents; Identify potential hazards and high-risk acts; recommend corrective and preventive actions as necessary.
Review employee safety programs to determine their adequacy; continuously update and improve the safety measures taken.
Evaluate adequacy of actions taken to correct health inspection violations.
Assist and coordinate in organizing evacuation, emergency, firefighting prevention and first aid processes in coordination with the Technical and Operations Teams.
Ensure dangerous materials and equipment are installed in a safe and accurate manner; Ensure that safety measures are taken around the installation of dangerous materials.
Prepare necessary and required health and safety reports including incident report, health and safety checklists, tracking and evaluation sheets;
Issue necessary actions (warnings, letters, etc.) for health and safety breaches; follow-up on safety measures taken.
Make sure the personal protective equipment is being used in the workplace according to set procedure.
Conduct and develop safety training sessions and programs to diverse population;
Ensure exit doors and paths are cleared from any obstacles.
Handle and maintain the filing system.
Conduct or coordinate worker training in areas such as safety laws and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment.
Abide and implement the Technical policies and procedures and ensure rules are respected at all times.
Others:
Stay up-to-date with the latest development and best practices in the Technical field and implement the newest techniques.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education: BT Diploma in maintenance, mechanical and/or electrical technician
Certificates: Safety courses (OSHA and/or NEBOSH)
Experience: 2+ years of relevant experience
