Ensures that personal hygiene needs of patients are met as defined by the scope of practice.
Responds to patient needs/call bells promptly within job requirements and refers questions/problems to the RN/NM.
Performs treatments and procedures as directed by the RN within their scope of practice at BMC (ambulation, warm packs, restraints, etc.).
Collects and records information pertinent to the patient’s status: Takes vital signs, empties and measures urine bags as directed by RN.
Utilizes emergency measures; initiates codes appropriately; performs and assists in basic life support as assigned.
Demonstrates an empathetic and caring approach to patients and their families and ensures that patients’ dignity and respect is maintained at all times.
Cleans and disinfects patient and unit environment, medical and non-medical equipment.
Notifies the RN of the risks and the infectious incidents.
Requirements
BT in nursing or equivalent is preferred.
Previous experience as a nurse assistant is a must.
Qualifications & Skills
Good communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
